Science Subtest II What is this course and who is it for?

This course is one of a series of courses intended to help prepare teacher candidates in the field of mathematics and science for the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET). Because this examination series is broken into subtests, we follow that convention here. This course is the second General Science Subtest course, which broadly covers the topics of Biology/Life Science, Chemistry, and Thermodynamics. In this course, we cover each of the specific knowledge areas listed for each content domain. It is particularly useful for those who need a review in specific areas of science, or who have not had any coursework recently. With such a wide range of subjects addressed in the General Science tests, we recognize that there are those who will need additional support to supplement what is offered in this freely available version of the course and for that reason, the University of California, Irvine Extension is offering an instructor-led version that uses the same materials.
