FREE online courses on Conversation Skills - How to close a talk

Close of a speech is remembered the longest. Certain things could be kept in mind while closing:

1.      Stop talking but do not talk about stopping. Like “that's about all I've to say on the matter. So I guess I'll stop”. This has a dull effect on the listeners.

2.      Ending should be planned. The talk should be rounded off. It should not be left rough and broken.

3.      It could be ended by raising a laughter or paying the audience a sincere compliment

4.      Your thought could be summarized and briefly the main points could be covered.

5.      An action could be appealed for

6.      A biblical quotation or a verse of poetry could prove to be a thoughtful ending.

7.      Building up a climax gives an effective ending.
