Copying, Cutting and Pasting

FREE online courses on How to Use Keyboard Shortcuts -  

Windows allows you to copy, cut and paste text and graphics between most applications.   Here's how it's done...


To Copy an Item

 


Press CTRL + C

This will copy the currently selected (highlighted) item to the Windows clipboard.  Note that the original item will not be affected.


To Cut an Item

 


Press CTRL + X

This will cut the currently selected (highlighted) item to the Windows clipboard. Note that this means that the original item will be deleted.


To Paste an Item

 


Press CTRL + V

This will paste the current item from the Windows clipboard to the current location of your cursor in the active application.
