Dreams can prove to be your most dependable and infallible guru. Most people fail to remember dreams because they slip out of the conscious memory like eels if not recorded immediately on waking up. So, keep a dream diary with a pencil or a tape recorder ready at your bedside.

Remind yourself everyday before falling asleep that you would pay attention to your dreams and shall recall them immediately on waking up.

Do not fall into a trap

  • It is important to use dreams only for confirming or doubting the wisdom of your consciously thought out decisions, especially if you are a beginner, in order to avoid falling into the trap of your own wishful thinking.

  • Do not let just one dream sway your decision.

  • The efficacy of dream guidance depends upon how willing you are to receive suggestions.

  • If your unconscious knows that you have already made a decision and that you are not going to change it your dreams may not suggest anything because they may find it unnecessary.

  • The unconscious will not suggest even if it knows that you are going to resist a particular kind of suggestion - even if that is what you need as a solution.

  • It takes little experience and time to be able to discriminate between a dream manifesting our wishful thinking and the one giving an intuitive insight.
  • If you become sensitive enough, you will receive the signals from your unconscious not only through dreams but also during your waking hours.

  • Stumbling over something, small and big accidents, narrow escapes, the way you sit, stand or walk all may give you clues about your inner states that you may need to do something about.

  • Symbols are very personal and only a good deal of self-knowledge can help us interpret them correctly.

  • You can develop sensitivity to cues/symbols during your waking hours by thinking about and using them more often during the day.

  • Ponder over the images that different words bring to your mind to get sensitive to your symbols.

Psychosomatic diseases

Diseases that we suffer as individuals too give us cues about the negative pattern of thinking in our life-dream. Mounting evidence now suggests that:

  • Gall-stones may indicate a possibility of accumulated grudges and an acute inability to forgive others.

  • Stones in the kidneys occur if the problem pertains to the partner instead.

  • Upper or lower back-problems signal unresolved emotions and anger depending upon the lack of emotional or material support respectively.

  • Problems relating to liver and other digestive organs beckon you to look at your nagging nature and unrealistic high standards of expectations, which make it difficult for you to forgive others.

Dream expert

If you can afford an experienced and dedicated dream expert in your organization, employ one now. In due course of time, he will prove to be as necessary to your organization as a mirror is in the dressing room.

In Decoding the Secret language of Your Body, the author Dr Martin Rush, a psychiatrist writes, “ When the connection between the mind and the body is acknowledged, the emotions that cause negative body events and illnesses can be expressed in other healthier ways.”

The diseased situations that an organization faces in its life-dream too give important cues about the negative attitudes and thinking of the employees.
