Allot
time slots for gossip, tea, telephones and entertaining guests, even if
they appear trivial to you. Preferably the slot should be of a small duration
and be kept in the post-lunch session, when the brain is least productive.
-
The
two-hour work-slots should be followed by forty-minute intervals, where
you can restrict yourself to the essentials while talking to a visitor or
on the phone.
-
Correspondence,
filing, planning, visualizing, going through files etc should also be allocated
different time slots to know what are the things employees spend time on
and for how long. Compare it with how you would like it to be. Think of
the possible ways of bridging the gaps between the two.
