• Allot time slots for gossip, tea, telephones and entertaining guests, even if they appear trivial to you. Preferably the slot should be of a small duration and be kept in the post-lunch session, when the brain is least productive.
     
  • The two-hour work-slots should be followed by forty-minute intervals, where you can restrict yourself to the essentials while talking to a visitor or on the phone.
     
  • Correspondence, filing, planning, visualizing, going through files etc should also be allocated different time slots to know what are the things employees spend time on and for how long. Compare it with how you would like it to be. Think of the possible ways of bridging the gaps between the two.
